Purchasing a Motor home

When it comes to purchasing a Motorhome there are a number of different factors that come into play.

First there is the variant of campervan, be it a coach built for convenience, hi top for size or A class for luxury. Then there is the brand name. There are lots of different manufacturers to choose from all of which have their own particular styles and benefits.

Hymer make all variants of camper except hi top. Other popular brands include Elldiss, Bessacarr, Rimor, Eura mobil, burstner, rapido, swift, auto trail, auto sleeper, adria niesman, and Hobby to name but a few.

Motorhome on the roadWhen it comes to buying a motor home there are a number of ways to precede. You can either decide on the type of van you need determined by what you will be doing with it and also where it would be stored. The latter rules out quite a lot of vans as some people don’t have the space to store such vast motorhomes.

Most people find that the easiest and most convenient way to buy a motor home is to visit their local motor home dealership. Most telephone directories will list a few of your nearest sites, but probably the most convenient and most reliable way to find your nearest dealership is to go onto the internet.

A simple Internet search would show you the closest and most convenient dealerships with most websites showing the stock in either manufacturer order or listed in motor home type.

Whilst the website is a great first port of call, and you will get to see the new and used motorhomes before you pay the dealer a visit, inevitably a visit is still needed. Most dealerships will however reserve a van that may be of interest to you for a small deposit so the van you are interested in does not get sold while you are en route to view it.

Before you go to a dealership if you have a camper van in mind make sure that you have any questions you want to ask about a specific motorhome, and taking a camera is a good idea so you can remember what a motor home looks like if you have to go away and then come back.

Once you have decided on a van there are also a number of extras that can be purchased to compliment your motor home. Cycle and scooter racks are very popular as they give you freedom once you and your motor home reach your destination.

Another popular addition is satellite television so you need not miss any TV show while you are away in your new motor home.

Let the dealer help you with all of this, do not buy anything you cannot afford, but try to get the best set of features that you can to suit your needs.
